Bitcoin Crosses $10,000 Mark

History was made today as bitcoin crossed the $10,000 mark for the first time, making it the world’s 29th largest currency according to CoinMarketCap.

A series of upgrades and forks had investors and users of the currency nervous this year, but bitcoin has still managed to beat expectations, growing by over 1,350% since this date last year, when it was valued at a then-near-record $737.

As of right now, the momentum shows little sign of stopping, as some analysts believe bitcoin could reach as high as $25,000 per coin within the next five years.
